Choral Settings of Great Hymns   The South Church Chancel Choir, Richard Coffey, choirmaster and David Westfall, organist and pianist.   Recorded in May, 1996.  This recording is not only a collection of beloved hymns but also a compilation of choral settings (usually in anthem form) of such hymns.  The criteria for inclusion on the recording were:  great texts, worthy and familiar settings of these as hymns, and where possible, choral versions of the hymns, all by composers of our own century.   Update 09/08:  This CD is almost sold out; some cassettes are still available!

Sacred Music from Central Europe  The South Church Chancel Choir, Richard Coffey, choirmaster, David Westfall, organist and pianist. Susan Knapp Thomas, harpist.  Recorded live in concert, March 2000.  Sacred Music from Central Europe honors some of the many cultures and traditions in present-day New Britain with music by Antonín Dvořák, Janácek, Orbán, and von Dohnányi.  This array of sacred works includes David Westfall playing Liszt’s Funérailles.

A Candlelight Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols  The South Church Chancel Choir, Richard Coffey, choirmaster, David Westfall, organist.  Readings and music of the season.  Recorded live, December 22 and 23, 2001.   The tradition of  “Lessons and Carols” at South Church began in 1972.  This recording was made which includes readings and anthems,  hymns, organ music, and prayers.  This is a recording of an event that stirs minds and moves hearts year after year.
